Hello Guild Members!

Its spring again.   Please mark you calendars for the Guild's Annual Meeting at Tamarack on April 20 (its a Tuesday).   We will have our guild jury sessions morning and afternoon with a Guild lunch-time meeting.  This coincides with Tamarack's scheduled jury session and an arts business  workshop will be provided by the Tamarack Foundation.   If you haven't juried or marketed with the guild for the past 5 years we ask that you plan to jury this year.

The Guild Shop at the Wheeling Artisan Center is needing merchandise.   Juried members can contact Cathy Beaty(cathybeaty@hotmail.com) or Sally Rowe(rowes@casinternet.net) for inventory sheets and directions for sending.

The Mountain State Art & Craft Fair will be here before you know it.  The guild tent under the direction of Becky Williamson had its most successful year ever last year.  Our 3 representatives work all year long on the fair board to plan for the next fair.    This year the Guild will be operating the EXPO exhibit. That means we'll need several more volunteers.  We have some who will help to set up and staff the Expo; Sheila Caim is chairman - won't you help?

Another Guild member who has been hard at work is Cyndi Bolt.  She tied up all the details of planning the next Guild Juried Exhibition for the fall of 2010 and completed the application for grant funds.

We will have election of officers in April.  Please submit your name if you are willing to serve as an officer/ board member.

The Guild is planning to have a booth at the Oglebayfest in Wheeling this fall, October 1-3.   We'll have details at the meeting

The Guild mourns the loss of two artisans this year.

Daryl L. Butler - MSACF soap maker in January

Olivia Ash Turner - guild member and polymer clay artist  at the fair and tong-time teacher of art at GW High School in Charleston in March.

They will surely be missed.
