Annual Spring Meeting and Jury Session

Greetings Guild Members!                                                                                                         Tuesday, April 24, 2012

 

  It’s spring!  Please mark your calendars for the Guild’s Annual Meeting at Cedar Lakes, Ripley, WV on Saturday, May 26.  The meeting is in the FHA building in the back where the parking lot is.

 

  We will have a jury session in the morning and a Guild Business Meeting in the afternoon about 1:15 pm.  If you wish to have lunch in the dining hall at Cedar Lakes, arrange for it by Friday, May 25.  Call 304-372-7860 for a reservation.

 

  If you haven’t juried or marketed with the Guild for the past 3 years, we ask that you plan to jury this year.  Contact Ken Westfall for information if you are interested in jurying for sales venues with the Guild. Email is:  <info@wvartcraftguild.com>.

 

  The Guild Shop at Wheeling Artisan Center needs merchandise as always!  Take advantage of this opportunity to sell your art or craft.

 

   The Mountain State Art and Craft Fair is approaching fast.  Dates this year are:  Setup:  July 4th!!!  Fair:  July 5th, 6th and 7^th.   If you are not a regular MSACF exhibitor, juried Guild members may sell their merchandise in the Guild’s tent. 

 

   The Guild will be operating the EXPO once again this year.  That means we’ll need several more volunteers.  We need help setting up EXPO and daily staffing.  This is a good way to see the fair and have a cool place to rest as well!

 

   The Guild will have an election of officers and board members at the Annual Meeting.  Please submit your name if you are willing to serve as an office or board member.  You may also nominate someone to serve, if they are willing.

 

   Our 9^th Biennial Juried Competition is scheduled for this fall.  We will be jurying by digital slides this year, a new venture and challenge for us. 

 

  We now have a Facebook page upon which to better communicate with you, the members.  You don’t have to join Facebook to look at the page and get any recent messages we’ve posted.  You do need to be a member to post.   You should  check http://facebook.com/pages/WVArtCraftGuild often to stay informed.

 

  We need to revise the Guild’s Members Online Gallery (MOG) on our website.  Many of the email addresses are not working.  Artists have new websites that are not listed. There are many who have Facebook pages that need to be listed, also.  Please write or call Cyndi or Ken with your new information.  Also, PLEASE!, consider sending me (Cyndi) new images of your work.  The instructions are on the bottom of the MOG pages:  http://www.wvartcraftguild.com/wvacgmog/mog.html
